Rarity is the foundation of Steal a Brainrot's economy. Every item you encounter — every trade you consider — is shaped by which rarity tier that item belongs to. Understanding what each tier means in practice (not just in theory) is what separates casual players from consistent traders.
All Rarity Tiers Explained
Common
Common items are the most frequently obtained in the game. They drop regularly and are easy to come by through normal gameplay. While their individual value is low, they serve a purpose: stacking several Common items can give you enough trade material to work your way up to Uncommon or Rare.
Uncommon
Uncommon items appear less frequently than Common ones but are still reasonably easy to obtain. They carry slightly more value and are useful as mid-step items in a value-stacking strategy.
Rare
Rare items are a genuine step up. Getting a Rare item starts to feel meaningful. These are the items you'll encounter as trade targets when working your way out of the Common tier.
Epic
Epic items carry real trade weight. Players take them seriously in negotiations, and they often serve as stepping stones to Legendary-tier trades. High-demand Epic items can sometimes punch above their weight class.
Legendary
Legendary items are what most active traders are aiming for. They're hard to get, high in demand, and command serious value in trade windows. Reaching Legendary tier is a milestone in the game.
Mythic
Mythic items are extremely rare. Most players will never own one through normal gameplay — they usually require significant trading to acquire. Their value reflects this scarcity.
OG
OG items are the pinnacle. They command the highest values, have the most prestige, and are the ultimate trading goal for serious players. Getting OG items through trading requires significant portfolio value and patience.
Why Rarity and Value Are Not Always the Same
Here is something many new players do not understand: rarity and trade value are related but not identical. A high-rarity item with low community demand can be worth less in practice than a lower-rarity item that everyone is actively seeking.
This is why checking demand alongside rarity is essential. On Brainrot Vault's item pages, each item shows both its rarity and its current demand level. Use both when evaluating a trade.

The most effective way to climb rarities is to combine multiple items of the current tier to trade for a single item of the next tier. This works best when:
- You are trading high-demand items at each level (easier to move)
- You use the trade calculator to confirm you are not giving away too much value
- You are patient — rushing a trade often means accepting a disadvantageous deal
Focus on items with high demand at every rarity level. High-demand items at Rare, for example, are much easier to trade up from than low-demand Rare items, even if their values are similar.
Rarity vs. Tier List Ranking
The tier list is separate from rarity. The tier list ranks items S through D based on their actual current value and demand — not their rarity label. An Uncommon item could theoretically appear on a higher tier list position than a Rare item if the community values it more highly.
Use both together: rarity tells you how hard something is to get; the tier list tells you how the community values it right now.
