Update 62 went live on 15 August 2026 and is the Rebirth 19 update. It is a smaller release than the Bee Event that preceded it, but the things it changed are the kind that quietly reshape a session: one more base slot, a gear item that finally gives you something to do about griefers, the removal of Lucky Block timers, and two new Secret brainrots that only come out of the RNG Machine. This page collects what is actually confirmed about the update and is explicit about the parts that are not.
Update 62 at a Glance
Four changes shipped together. None of them is a headline event, and taken as a set they push the game slightly further toward the long grind: more room to store what you own, a little more protection for it, and a new tier of income sitting behind a random roll.
What Update 62 changed
- ✓Rebirth 19 unlocked, extending the rebirth ladder by one more step.
- ✓A 28th base slot, so a full base now holds one more brainrot than it did on 14 August.
- ✓Grief Shield gear, which absorbs a single hit from another player before it shatters.
- ✓Lucky Block timers removed across the board — you are no longer racing a countdown to open one.
- ✓Two new Secret brainrots added to the RNG Machine pool: Candini Fluffini and La Fuse Machine.
The Two New Secret Brainrots
Both are Secret rarity and both come from the RNG Machine rather than from a shop, an event merchant or a Lucky Block. Their in-game purchase price and their income per second are confirmed by more than one source and agree between them. Their trade value is not confirmed by anything, and we have left it blank rather than guess.
| Brainrot | Rarity | In-game cost | Income per second | Trade value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Candini Fluffini | Secret | $13B | $57.5M/s | Not established |
| La Fuse Machine | Secret | $35B | $95M/s | Not established |
In-game cost is not trade value, and income per second is not trade value either. A brainrot that costs $35B to buy from the machine is not therefore worth $35B in a trade — the two numbers move independently, and across the items we already track the gap between them spans more than fiftyfold. Any list that fills in a trade value for these two this week is deriving it from the cost, not reporting it.
La Fuse Machine is the bigger of the two on raw output: at $95M/s it earns roughly 73% more than Candini Fluffini while costing about 2.7 times as much to buy. Whether that trade is worth making depends entirely on how much cash you can already generate, which is the same calculation every Secret purchase in this game comes down to.
A Correction on Polaroidini
This is a correction to a correction, and the earlier one was ours. On 24 August we moved Polaroidini from Update 61 to Update 62 on the authority of a third-party update log, and this article originally listed it as one of the new Update 62 Secrets. That was wrong. The Steal a Brainrot Wiki records it as an Update 61 brainrot released on 11 August 2026, obtained from merchandise DLC at a low rate rather than from the RNG Machine, and not obtainable in game at present. The same third-party log that moved it also files Tacoturbo Tacorito under Update 64, where the wiki, the update overview and the Taco Tuesday history all place it in Update 62 — so we now follow the wiki. Polaroidini has been removed from the Update 62 list above and re-attributed on its item page. Its cost and income were correct throughout and have never changed.
The Grief Shield
Grief Shield is gear rather than a passive base upgrade: you equip it, and it absorbs one hit from another player before it shatters. That is the whole mechanic as it has been described — one hit, then it is gone.
It is worth being clear about what that does and does not buy you. It does not make a base safe, and it does not stop a determined player who is willing to swing twice. What it does is convert the single most annoying moment in the game — being knocked out the instant you commit to a run — into a survivable one. Against a casual griefer that is often the whole fight.
Because the shield is spent on the first hit that lands, it is worth most when you are about to expose yourself deliberately: carrying a Secret back across the map, or making a run at a base you know is defended. Wearing it while idling at your own base spends it on nothing.
What We Can and Cannot Tell You About Rebirth 19
Rebirth 19 is the headline feature and it is also the part with the least reliable public information. What is consistently reported is that it is the first rebirth step to require a brainrot generating more than $10M per second, which puts it out of reach of anyone still running mid-tier Brainrot Gods.
What is not reliably published anywhere is the exact cash requirement and the exact brainrot threshold. The rebirth guides that cover this game in detail stop at Rebirth 16 or 17. We checked several of them and none carried Rebirth 19 numbers, so we are not printing any. The in-game rebirth menu shows you the real requirement, and that is the only source we would trust for it today.
Why we leave a gap rather than fill it
A wrong rebirth requirement is worse than no requirement. Someone reading a made-up number plans a session around it, banks toward the wrong target and finds out at the menu. If we cannot source it, the honest thing is to say so and point you at the menu that knows.
Lucky Block Timers Are Gone
The fourth change is the quietest and probably the one you will feel most often. Lucky Blocks previously ran on a timer, which meant an unopened block was a countdown you had to service. Update 62 removed the timers from all of them.
Practically, that means you can hold blocks and open them when it suits you — after a rebirth, when a friend is on to watch the roll, or when your base has room for whatever falls out. It removes a small, constant source of pressure from the session and it makes stockpiling blocks a viable thing to do rather than a waste.
What Changed on This Site
- Candini Fluffini and La Fuse Machine were added to the item list with confirmed rarity, in-game cost and income per second, and a blank trade value.
- Polaroidini was re-attributed back to Update 61 and to merchandise DLC — see the correction above. No number on it changed.
- No existing trade value, tier, demand or trend was altered this week — nothing we found was solid enough on our scale to justify a change.
- No code was added, expired or re-labelled. Update 62 did not ship one.
Frequently Asked Questions
When did Update 62 release?
15 August 2026. It is the Rebirth 19 update, and it was followed a week later by Update 63, which added the Bee Lucky Block.
How do I get Candini Fluffini and La Fuse Machine?
Both come from the RNG Machine. You pay the spin fee, the machine reveals a brainrot with its purchase price, and you then have to be able to afford that price before the prompt closes. You can also take either one off another player by stealing it from their base, which is how most people will actually see one.
What is the trade value of the new Secrets?
There is not an established one yet. New Secrets take time to settle into the trading meta, and until traders converge on a range there is no honest number to publish. We show a dash rather than a placeholder. It will be filled in when there is something real to fill it with.
Did Update 62 come with a code?
No. No new code shipped with Update 62, and none shipped with Update 63 either. The only code with any current support across the sites that track them is BESTBRAINROTEVER, and even that carries a Pending Check label here because the sources disagree.
Is the Grief Shield worth using?
It absorbs exactly one hit and then breaks, so it is worth using when you are deliberately exposing yourself — a long carry, or a raid on a defended base. It is not base security and it will not stop someone who commits to a second swing.
